Israeli Holidays: Rosh Hashanah

Israeli Holidays: Rosh Hashanah

Rosh Hashanah is the Jewish New Year, and is celebrated for two days in Israel.

This year, the holiday begins the evening of Wednesday, Sept. 4and lasts until sundown on Friday, Sept. 6.

Rosh Hashanah is the first of three major holidays during the month of September, which also includes Yom Kippur and Sukkot. During the holiday, most public venues will be closed.

Holiday customs vary depending on cultural and religious observances, but the most common activity during Rosh Hashanah is eating applesdipped in honey, which symbolizes a sweet new year. We at Sea Executive Suites wish you a very “suite” and healthy new year!
