Considered a city that never sleeps, Tel Aviv showcases this stigma by hosting the annual “White Night” (laila lavan in Hebrew) — a time when Tel Aviv collectively pulls an all-nighter.
This year, “White Night” is on Thursday, June 27. Several events and exhibitions will take place throughout the night and into the early morning, including at:
- Gordon Beach – “Dancing in White” (a Bollywood dance workshop)
- Rothschild Boulevard – musical ensembles and street performances
- Rabin Square – headphones party
- HaTachana – musical performances with local bands and Einat Sharof
- Tel Aviv Opera House – operatic performances on the stage of the Tel Aviv Opera House, including La Traviata, Rigoletto, The Magic Flute, West Side Story, My Fair Lady, and Phantom of the Opera (starting at midnight)
- Jaffa Flea Market – street performances and TEXTILE IT 2013 (exhibition by Shenkar design graduates)
- Tel Aviv Cinematheque – free Israeli film screenings from 19:00 through midnight
- Tel Aviv Port – sunrise yoga
