After the somber day of mourning on Yom Hazikaron, the evening of Yom Ha’atzmaut begins in such high energy and joy. With top Israeli singers, fireworks, singing and dancing, the holiday energy in Rabin Square is not to be missed. From young kids to the older crowd you can see people decked out in hats with the Star of David, or walking around with a massive Israeli flag draped around them. There are also the flag wavers proudly holding Israeli flags of all sizes. As the square fills up with hundreds of people, anxiously waiting for the festivities to begin, the crowd spills out onto the streets, and the entire area around the square turns into a large street celebration in addition to the performances and fireworks happening inside the square.
