How Will Covid19 Change The Way We Travel
Share
It’s no secret that the coronavirus pandemic brought the travel industry to halt, but don’t worry, it hasn’t killed it. Quite the opposite – COVID19 could actually be a precious opportunity to adapt and kickstart changes that will alter almost every aspect of your stay.
On the consumer end, travel experts predict that at least in the near to medium future, travelers could go on fewer but longer vacations, which will be heavily impacted by health and safety considerations. Although humans are social creatures, the need to avoid mingling and crowded areas will force all of us to be social from a safe distance, which means hotels must make significant operational changes and rethink the experience they offer.
The Changes You Can Expect
The most basic operational aspect that will be adapted to the post Coronavirus world is the check-in and checkout process, that in many hotels will move into the virtual space and become contactless and keyless. It’s highly likely that hotels will no longer offer personalized services and amenities, and the hotel stay will be less communal, meaning buffets, room service, minibars and spas will be discontinued or suspended. And since consumers will prefer staying in places where they can easily maintain a safe distance from other guests and hotel staff, it’s very possible many hotels will start offering a more home away from home experience, with the ability to cook in the suites and less frequent housekeeping services.
Naturally, hygiene is a main concern so cleaning procedures will be updated, while deep cleaning will become the new normal. Among other measures, this may include:
– Higher frequency of disinfection of high-touch surfaces and public spaces
– Placing Hand sanitizer stations in all public spaces throughout the hotels
– Introducing social distancing signs to remind guests how to stay safe
What Changed at Sea Executive Suites
In an effort to adapt to this new reality created by the Coronavirus, we have converted our hotel into holiday apartments. Now, you can book an apartment for short or long term stays, with no check-in or checkout formalities.
To book your stay, just enter our website and reserve your holiday apartment. Once you’ve completed the quick and easy online reservation process, you will receive a personal door unlock code via text message.
All apartments offer a fully equipped kitchen as well as beddings, blankets and towels. Guests can still hang out in our pleasant lobby and enjoy the gorgeous rooftop, gym and laundry room.
Housekeeping services have also been altered. For short-term stays, beddings and towels will be changed only once a week. For 30-day stays or longer, the apartment will be thoroughly cleaned once a week, including beddings and towels change.
We will be happy to provide additional cleaning services, an extra set of towels or beddings for an additional fee.
Finally, we’ve also updated our cancellation policy: a full refund will be issued to reservations cancelled up to 24 hours prior to the check-in time (Israel time zone) specified in the confirmation email. Cancellations made less than 24 hours prior to the check-in time (Israel time zone) specified in the confirmation email, will be charged the full amount of the reservation.
